Time is rolling past quickly and we're nearly ushering in another year. No, I can't believe it either. I'm not ready to make and break New Year resolutions yet!
I haven't even decided what I'm doing for New Year, which is worse I suppose because I know all the tickets will go, especially for all the events for New Years Eve in Belfast clubs.
As usual, organisers of the New Years Eve in Belfast clubs have pulled out all the stops and put on some great events.
And as we all know New Years Eve in Belfast clubs is all about dancing and there's nowhere better to do this than at The Belfast Empire. Well, I say dancing, but it's more likely to be moshing as Strictly No Ballroom are playing, and it's only £10 a ticket.
But the other thing I love about New Year, other than dancing about like a loon, is having a reason to dress up.
AM:PM make this more than acceptable with a party that stands out from the rest of the New Years Eve in Belfast clubs. AM:PM are hosting a 007 Bond party and it's black tie and cocktail dresses all the way. You could of course go as a James Bond villain, but who wants to look like Jaws when you could go as Solitaire? They have jazz, a casino, and they're supporting the Marie Curie cancer charity.
If you like your glamour you could go to the Black Box. They're having a Masked Ball with Filthy Madonna. I've always fancied going to a masked ball, although the risks you run when it comes to finding someone to kiss at midnight seem a bit high! Anyway, their theme is based around Edgar Allen Poe's short story The Masque of Red Death. It sounds morbid but at least it's a bit more unusual than the standard New Years Eve in Belfast clubs.

Another party which is worth a look is at Ollies Clubs which has music from some world-class DJs. They're expecting it to go on until 1.30am and it's £20 a ticket. Happy New Year!
Hi Grace,
Well, as I say, New Year's Eve is tricky, but as you and your friend are both young, free and single, I'd say it makes it a lot easier.
Laverys is always good, and although it's not a club it does have three rooms and they'll be different music on each floor, so there should be something you like. Although it's only open until 1am, if you get there early you could have a great night.
But if you're real party animals and fancy getting dressed up and some glamour then you should head to
>AM:PM for their masquerade ball. It's ticketed and they're going to sell out quick, so I'd get in fast.
Potthouse is always popular, but they do have strict doorstaff so I'd phone first to see what their policy is going to be for New Year's Eve.
To be honest, because you're unsure of what to do, I'd stick to bars rather than committing yourself to a club. And one bar that's always great is
Bar Bacca. It's probably one of Belfast's nicest bars. It should be good for pop and chart as they're planning to plays hits from 2008, and it has a club upstairs called
La Lea, and I think they're only charging £10 entry on New Year.
I hope you have a great one, whatever you end up doing, and Happy New Year!
