Botanic Gardens Boulevard
Around 30,000 visitors are expected at this year's Belfast Taste and Music Fest. This three-day event will see the beautiful Botanic Gardens transformed into a boulevard of restaurants with food prepared by a selection of chefs from some of the best kitchens in Northern Ireland. There's also cooking demonstrations, cocktails mixing, a bar and live music.

Top chefs
To ensure it's an event everyone can get involved in, there are some special guests appearing at the boulevard of the Belfast Taste and Music Fest eateries. The 2011 line up of chefs will see not only demonstrations from experienced chefs, but also from young, gifted cooks who have taken the culinary world by storm. Some of the chefs taking part include Simon Dougan, Alan Higginson, Tony O'Neil, Paul Catterson, Dean Coppard, Andy Rea, Danny Millar and Roisin Gavin, so expect a veritable Who's Who of culinary talent.

Suppliers too
The Belfast Taste and Music Fest won't only be showcasing those who put the food on the plate, there'll be representatives from some of Northern Ireland's best suppliers too. Visitors will be able to see chefs from the likes of O'Kabe Poultry, Kettyle Irish Foods and Get Fresh, offering a unique perspective on how some of the excellent dishes go from production to plate and palate. And when you thrown in stunning al fresco settings, great drinks and plenty of surprises, this year's event looks set to be very fine indeed.

Music
But the Belfast Taste and Music Fest isn't just about the food. There's plenty of aural entertainment too, with 2011 once again seeing everything from blues, jazz and rock to tribute bands, swing and lounge. Although the full 2011 line up is yet to be confirmed, acts in 2010 included The Jive Aces, Flash Harry, Ronnie Greer’s Almost Big Band, Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers, John D'Arcy’s Great Bunch of Lads, The ELO Experience, The Dutch Kate Bush, The Strangels - Nick Cave meets Tom Waits, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac and the Lee Hedley Band, so expect 2011 to please your ears as well as your palate once again.
