3 Derry Road,
We stayed in the MK's bed & breakfast overnight during the Irish Championships in Baronscourt in Dec 2011.
After an early start, soaked tired & hungry we reached the bar, got a warm welcome & the bar looked very homely. When we were shown to our room first impressions were good, was looking forward to a nice shower - didnt work! Water gushed out of the top of showerhead scalding me but no water from the shower itself, cold water tap didnt work bar a slight trickle, which had to be used to fill the kettle. Had to resort to a quick wash before going out to get a bite to eat, we were ready for a good sleep as we had an early start next morning.
During the night we were wakened by the sound of dripping water - the rain was coming through the window that was directly above the bed and falling onto us, due to us being so tired (I was also suffering from a very bad cold which didn't help) we just rolled away from the dripping & attempted to go back to sleep but the with the rain increasingly getting heavier and soaking us we were forced to get up at 5am. Breakfast was pre-arranged and pre-paid for 7am but we arrived there to find the place deserted, not a soul in sight & we had to eventually leave.
We then went to get the car out only to find it was blocked in behind a wooden gate which had obviously been locked the night before so my husband had to scale the wall to open the gate. On leaving I spotted the girl who had finally turned up to start the breakfast, but she was too busy on her mobile phone and stated she would start making it "if you really want it" .
We left more exhausted than we arrived and paying for a service we didn't receive. I did write & complain to the owner regarding our stay but as yet I have not received a response or even an acknowledgement. Would not stay again under any circumstances!!
