don't think about going near the niteclub in this place, if the bouncers want you to leave they don't ask you they just drag you out by the throat, the food is also a rip off as we had a christmas doo here, where I also witnessed the aggressive bouncers, avoid! Other better bars and clubs in Belfast I wouldn't even give this place one star, ps the people who got threw out wernt fighting just drunk, shocking as it was the barmen who got them drunk in the first place,
I am a regular at the Kitten Bar - myself and my girlfriend go here often for food. We love it. They do a £20 meal deal where you get two mains and a bottle of wine or sometimes we go before the cinema for their ticket meal deal.
Always great service and excellent cocktails! Really nice place :)
I ate lunch with a group of 5 other girls frmo work a couple of Fridays ago. We get an hour for lunch. After 45 minutes there was no sign of my food. I explained to the waitress that we only had an hour for lunch and I had a meeting I had to be back in the office for at 2pm. I said I had no choice but to get mine to go. 20 minutes later, 2pm at this stage my colleagues all received their food and were half way through eating it before mine arrived. I was in utter disbelief already but then to taste the utter rubbish they gave me. I never leave left overs. This time, it was so disgusting (how you can get lasagne so utterly wrong I do not know). We all went up to pay making it clear we were not leaving a tip and the excuse we were given for waiting so long was " because of how busy the bar was" This was said as a table of aout 6 or 7 males was pointed to. Other than them and I there were 2 others in the entire place! I actually feel stupid for having paid and should have refused or in fact not been expected to pay given the pathetic service (from the supposed manager) and hideous food which was clearly some chilli con carne with a few pasta sheets thrown between. I will never enter Stiff Kitten again. Nothing good about it. A real dissapointment. And all because I wanted a change from our usual lunch time haunt!
Had Christmas dinner here last night. All I can say about this place is - MAJOR rip-off. Our party chose to go to Stiff since there was a deal on - 3 courses for £16.99 - The menu sounded pretty good and I was looking forward to filling myself.Starter: Basically a MASSIVE hunk of goats cheese on some lettuce and tomato - good portion size but far too rich for a starter.Main: Steak on a bed of carmelised onion with mashed potato, carrots and peas - delicious, good portion size and we also got a bowl of roasties for two to shareDessert: Profiterols - with the usual pathetic dribble of chocolate sauce that restaurants love so much - A bit small but quite tastyService? Mediocre - water took forever to come, waitress dropped a dirty spoon on me - you know what it's like I'm sure.Problem? The price. This went up to a whopping £23 (I'm a poor student for goodness sake!) - SERVICE charge apparently plus I had to pay an extra £2.50 for having a steak. Yeah I was pretty disappointed tbh and wouldn't recommend a place that likes to add on secret costs - SNEAKY!!!
I discovered the Stiff Kitten one lunchtime when I was out with some colleagues for lunch and it has since become one of my favourite bars in Belfast. The music is chilled but funky and the atmosphere is friendly. Also, one word: Appletini! Really though, the food is reasonably priced at lunchtime and is delicious and filling. The cocktails are gorgeous (especially the martinis!) and the bar prices are no more expensive than any other non-studenty bar in the area. My only small gripe is that there are never enough chairs, but really it's not their fault they're no popular!
Love coming to the Stiff Kitten, phat atmosphere and massive selection of beers. Late of the Pier Friday is gonna be off the chain!!!!
