Parlour is an economist’s dream – weekly drinks promotions and no entrance fee to the bar. Add to that a laidback pub atmosphere downstairs and a club upstairs and you’re on to a winner.

The Venue
It's doubtful that there's a better located bar and club in Belfast. Parlour is right next to Queens University Belfast and this makes it perfect for students and young professionals alike. It is located just outside of the city centre on Elmwood Avenue, and is an easy commute from town.

Queues are never too big, both inside and outside, meaning student loans and overdrafts can be tapped into at will without having to wait for the drinks, with the three beers / alcopops for £5 proving especially popular. The bar is beautifully decorated and there are leather sofas and seats galore, a very unceremonious yet classy affair.

The People
Parlour doesn't cater to just one age group so it is not uncommon to see young professionals and students alike enjoying the pint and pizza lunch deal, or to see young and old mingling in the bar of an evening. It has a good ambience about it and as such does not discriminate against any one age group. There is a welcoming feel about the place.

The Music
It's typically pop chart based music, mixed with old classics, particularly upstairs. It isn’t a club where you would find any music which is too genre specific, which might annoy the purists but, in general, there aren’t too many complaints. The DJs are normally laidback and would be more than happy to play requests for you if you ask nicely (and it’s in the charts)!

The Food and Drink
There's a very good food menu enhanced by the wood-fired stone oven. Their dishes satisfy the most critical of taste buds (especially the Texan pizza). There's not only a strong pizza line-up, there's also a budget £5 menu which includes the pie of the day and chicken goujons.

The daytime menu also includes the pizza and a pint for £5 which is very popular with students who've had a tough day of lectures or daytime TV. Parlour also provides most of your typical beers and wines and the competitive prices will surely not leave anyone disappointed! Cocktails come in jugs for £6, which again, is cheap.

The Last Word
Parlour is unpretentious - it's a great place for a few cheap, relaxed drinks with friends, with the option of going to the club upstairs as well. In short, this pub ticks a lot of boxes.
