This place is terrible. I tried it a couple of years ago and vowed never to go back but while in CItyside recently my 9year old kept asking to go so I gave in hoping they had changed. I was wrong! The restaurant looks lovely & clean but the food is appalling. Garlic mushrooms where burnt black & had a disgusting taste, chicken goujons didn't even look like chicken (I was expecting chicken breast goujons) these were like cheap supermarket kids chicken goujons. Steak was also burnt and hard to eat with no sauce, chips were like cardboard, salad was terrible, all round the food was horrible! The glasses & plates were filthy, I couldn't even use the glasses. Waitress was nice but was on the phone twice while serving us! I am not a fussy person but this made me feel sick. Please trust this & don't waste your money!!

The service at this restaurant was terrible. As we walked into the restaurant we waited 10 mins on someone to serve us, this would be acceptable if it was busy, however there was only 2 other tables occupied. After waiting, we then were told by what i assume was the manager as she was not dressed in a uniform like the rest, 'take a seat in that one' as she pointed at a booth and walked away, which i thought was very rude. Good service would have been her showing us to a table handing us menus and making sure we were comfortable. Eventually she arrived with 2 menu's and threw them on the table. Once she had came back with the drinks she also threw them on the table and they almost tipped and went over my partner and myself. needless yo say there was no apology.

We ordered a couples combo for starter (which i highly DO NOT recommend) and when it arrived it was slammed down on the table without making sure everything was ok for us or anything. The onion rings were not cooked correctly and still raw, the ribs were massive but there was no meat on them , just fat! The chicken goujons where as hard as a brick and as i cut into one it flew off the plate. The wedges where not cooked fully either, massive disappointment.

For main course i got the chicken goujons and wedges. However when i cut into these they were filled with viens and tasted like rubber! i refused to eat those or the wedges. My partner got the Chicken curry with rice and chips, not much taste of the curry, was very watered down, and rice was hard.

Safe to say i will never be back to this restaurant, biggest dissapointment. Not to mention the illness i had after i ate here. I would highly recommend that people go elsewhere.

Interesting that you were so ill, way back in April 2012 .....as they now have had to close, in October 2012, due to a series of outbreaks of eColi. Phew, glad I never had the Flicks experience : (

Just visited flicks with about 20 friends, we ordered our food and half the tables got theirs and were finished when the rest of the table hadnt got theirs, a few of the orders were for well done steak, the first steak was burnt and not edible, also the yorkshire pudding, the surpervisor took it away to replace it and it was raw right through, we asked for a replacement and the third steak was half raw too, so couldnt eat it, half the table did not get a roast potatoe with their meal as we were told they had run out, we had booked a week in advance so they should have been prepared, we ordered dessert which was meant to be apple crumble or pavola and the pavola had run out too, there was only 5 pavola left for our party of 22,as we complained bout the third steak the surpervisor told us its only the fatty bit just cut it of, that it was the chefs fault, the restaurant was clean and most of the waiters/waitresses were cheerful and friendly but wasnt amused after having to get a steak changed 3 times that they still couldnt get it right and then the supervisor being a bit off saying just cut it of, wouldnt recommend this place to anyone as the service just wasnt what it should have been

My wife and I visited Flicks today and we expected the food to be very average - as is generally the case in restaurants sited in shopping complexes. We were, however, more than pleasantly surprised as the food was superb, the portions were generous and it was very, very reasonably priced. The restaurant including the toilets was scrupulously clean and the service was excellent. We did not have long to wait for our meals and Gabby and Darren were both very friendly and professional. I would have no hesitation recommending this eaterie to anyone and I look forward to returning.

Well done Flicks!

I ate out here recently and I have to say I was disappointed, not with the staff but with the food, my potatoes were undercooked and I couldn't eat them my garlic bread was also burnt, when I mentioned to the staff member I wasn't offered a replacement nor was I offered anything off the bill, although I could have protested this it really wasn't worth the hassle. Although my husbands meal was perfect and he enjoyed it, flicks wasn't that busy which for a fri evening is unusual but I think its because of the new Chinese buffet that's opened downstairs and I think its probably taken some trade away. As for the comment from the person that worked there I think its in customers interest to see good and bad reviews and everyone has their own opinions any time that I have been in staff is always short so maybe that's why you are overworked! ( I wonder if its the managers daughter that left that comment as she worked there also). I would definitely recommend the chinese downstairs children eat half price and children under a certain height eat free.

I used to work in Flicks and left recently so i thought it would be beneficial for people to hear a review from the other side of the table. I wouldn't recommend a restaurant i would eat out of myself and in my opinion Flicks food is lovely. It is cheaper than anywhere else to buy a steak and at high quality. It is very difficult to work under the immense pressure you can get on a busy night and unfortunately may find it hard to fulfill the needs of every customer but each member of staff tries their hardest to please the unpleasable. If bad reviews like this would put you off coming then how come there are so many regular people who come once, maybe even twice a week. Bad reviews are personal taste from people who like to complain. I'm not just saying that because i worked there... they really do apply themselves 100% all the time and I can assure customers that health, hygiene, quality and service are always top of their list.

I read these reviews as I am over visiting Belfast this weekend with some family members and was looking places to go while we were shopping. And I disagree with every bad comment written! We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by the waiter, who was very friendly, he asked us to have a seat on their sofa while he prepared our table. The waitress (who we assumed was the manager as her uniform was different) took us to our table once it was ready and offered us a drink, as soon as she returned with our drinks, she took our order. The food arrived in about 15 - 20 minutes, which we thought was very good as the place was very very busy and we were in awe watching both the waiter and waitress do their job, they always had a smile on their faces no matter how busy they were and they were very approachable. The portions were very generous, in fact we didn't even finish it because there was so much. I would certainly recommend Flicks to anyone, and I will certainly be returning when I come back to Belfast.

I was with my mum last night and I also thoroughly enjoyed the experience. People take the time to complain so we thought we would take the time to compliment this wee hidden gem. I enjoyed our first time at flicks so much I am going back next week with friends from work. Ignore the bad comments , give this restaurant a chance. Food is excellent and good value and the staff are fantastic.

Hello, I just want to complaint about the service that me and my partner received in dinning in your restaurant. We had to wait on our meal about 20 minutes, then when we recieved it, the meal was cold, then we had to wait again for a further 20 minutes. The staff in the restaurant was not very nice, they were rude and very natsy to me and my partner.

When we got the bill it was wrong and they were charging my me and my partner for things that we never got. When I said to them they were arguning with me and my partner in the middle of a restaurant which was a embarrasing to me amd my partner and the way we were treated since it was a very special ocassion to me since it was my birthday. I dont like that to happen to me on my birthday, since it was our first time dinning in your restaurant. I wou;d like you to me back to me on this matter asap on my email below:sharonseawright@hotmail. Co. Uk

Very surprised with the last review. Visited Flicks for the first time on Saturday and the food was lovely. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are great (although we struggled to finish!). The manager was very pleasant and everything was very efficient. Would definitely recommend it, although be prepared to leave feeling very full!

Been here a few times with the hubby and kids and to be honest its pot luck as to how nice your meal is, avoid going on a fri nite if poss as the staff are just rushed and your food comes to the table burnt and the lasagne cold. The manager is a lot to be desired she walks about the place with a sour bake, and to be honest was plain rude once to me and my sisters when we moved to a more comfortable table, because we didnt ask to be moved (felt like a child back at school).

I agree......the "Manageress" had a face on her like a bust sofa! My girlfriend and I went around 3 months ago and got summit to eat before going in to see "The Book of Eli" as part of the meal deal offer.

When ordering this meal deal "Sour Bake" working there said "oh, another meal deal couple.....credit crunch is showing so bad these days, that's all we get in here"...............I was shocked but wasn't going to let her get away with her cheekiness. I said back "well, we're paying your wages for ya, are we not?" - she never said anything back................I don't know how they get the jobs these days??

Apart from anything we had to wait around 15-20 minutes for spuds and chicken which was cold and swiftly was sent back..........there was only us 2 in the restaurant too as it was during the day.............a dump!!
