Gaze

Me and my partner got a Gaze tonight we waited an hour and a half on it coming it was cold the chips weren't cooked right it was rotten I won't be getting again!

Have had many takeaways from Gaze and they've always been yum, so last week when I was going out on a date, I thought why not Gaze? It's handy for both of us to get to without having to go all the way into town. The restaurant is pretty small, sitting a maximum i'd say of 20 people. Our meals arrived promptly and were as good as ever, however, as soon as we were finished and just chatting, they rudely cleared away our plates and brought us our bill telling us they needed the table for the people who had just come through the door. Even though I still had half a glass of wine to drink, I had to leave it as the waitresses kept staring at us that I no longer felt comfortable to sit on. Totally ruined the night, absolutely horrendous service. Will definately not be back. Dinner was over 30pound, and we weren't even in there 30minutes. Scandalous!!!

Have ordered delivery many times before but just tried tonight and the guy who answered the phone said it was too far away to deliver as the food would get cold (which is not true as I live only 2miles away and it has always arrived hot) he then said the kitchen had 6 orders ahead of mine so I said you basically dont want my order and he said thats right. What an idiot!

I have to agree with the less than good reviews of GAZE. I live less than 1 minutes walk away and after giving it 3 chances and being disappointed each time I gave up and decided never to darken its door again. On one of those visits I asked an Asian friend to join us and even he advised us to give it a miss in future based on the food and the service. (or should I say lack of) I have worked and Managed a few restaurants and I know that even the best of them and their staff have bad nights or just bad luck on the odd table or two when things go wrong, that's why I gave GAZE the benefit of the doubt. The simple matter is that this restaurant is not good, on occasions the food is ok, but 'ok' is simply not good AND the service is always terrible. Its not somewhere I will return to.

Sat in this evening at Gaze for the first time ever. Wasnt sure whatto expect but at least something half decent for main courses not far off £10 a go. But - the food was truely awful / bog standard. My local chinese takeaway could have and will do a lot better in future. I ordered the stir fried shredded duck in teriyaki sauce with fried rice - when it came it was actually just normal sliced duck fried with basic stir fried veg and absolutely drowned in teriyaki sauce. It was as if they grabbed some dry duck that was sitting in a tub, whacked some veg in the pan for 3 mins, got a jar of teriyaki sauce any1 could buy from an asian supermarket for £2, and threw a pile of fried rice on it. All of that for £9.20. The amount of fat on the duck was a total disgrace - I dont mind a bit of fat but the pile I left behind in the bowl was akin to mt everest. The serivce was also atrocious - we asked for 2 glasses of tap water and we got them - with no ice - this should be something that is supplied anywhere you eat in, pretty basic stuff. We had to request it seperately afterwards. The girl who served us was the most miserable soul on the planet, never asked us how our food was and she actually turned away from us as we went to leave. Will never go back here again, I just cant understand any positive reviews of this total disaster of place. If I could give it zero stars I would.

absolutley loved the food in gaze, honey chilli chicken is best around! i would agree that the staff are abit abrupt and dont understand u sometimes but as far as food is concerned, wouldnt say a bad word about it :)

Very unhappy with Gaze that was recomended by a friend. Orderd chicken fried rice (not the same as anywhere else ie the rest of Northern ireland) no veg in this dish, chicken marinated in a black sauce, a required taste! Chicken balls are mini nuggets! For a start as I was placing the order, I had not finished speaking to the girl on the phone and she hung up rather abruptly. I rang back to clarify a few things, she continued to sound abrupt again the phone when down, I rang back again to cancel the chicken balls that she discribed were nuggets, she on 3 occasions told me I could not cancel the order as they were already made (in the space of 3 mins) eventually she took them off the order with a lot of sighing and heavy pissed off breathing down the phone. Eventually had to take half of the order back and get a refund. Staff arrogant. Will not be back nor reccomending Gaze. Very unfriendly when arrived back with order. Bad customer service. Really pissed of at this experience as it spoild a lovely relaxing evening with my parther!

The food here is okay, they have a menu that is divided up into different Asian countries like a Thai section, Malaysian section and so on. The only thing that got up my nose is that the Ormeau Road
branch is small and you often find yourself sharing a table.

Without a doubt, the best Chinese takeaway in Belfast. Salt and chilli prawns are garlic smoked chicken starters are amazing, satay beef is the best in Belfast. Yum.

the absolute best king prawn satay I've tasted, the food is piping hot, service is quick, setting is informal dining. only drawback is sharing bench-like tables.
